Step 1

We will draw the complete outline of your design in this first step of our guide on drawing a tent. The outlines will be noticeably rounded, and instead of one smooth line, there will be several square shapes, as shown in the reference image. They will show where the Tent is connected to the support poles. Finally, a thin corner stake will be on each side of the Tent. That’s all you need to do now, and you’re ready to move on!

Step 2: Remove another stick for the Tent.

In drawing your Tent, we will draw another pole for it. This one will pass through the other two through the Tent’s center. This pole will be drawn with a line similar to the ones you used on the others and will move closer to the Centre. A somewhat pyramidal shape will also be drawn with straight lines on top of the Tent.

Step 3: Outline the Tent a little better.

For this third aspect of our focus on drawing a tent, we will add more to the outline of the Tent. For the sides, use a few smooth lines close to the jagged ones you drew earlier for the pillars. Finally, use a few more smooth lines for the base of the Tent before moving on to step 4.

Step 4: Count More additional Points to the Tent

The following steps in your tent drawing will be to add the final details to your painting before you paint. Tithe elements of this fourth stage will be straightforward, but they will also be instrumental. First, draw a few more straight lines near the Tent’s base. Then you can draw more inside the top of the Tent than in the previous step. With these lines drawn, you’ll be ready to add the final details in the next step, so let’s continue!

Step 5: Now, you can count some last elements of your tent picture.

It wouldn’t be a very effective tent without a door, so we’ll add one in this step of our guide on drawing a tent. To outline the Tent, you can use a curved line near the base of the Tent. Then you can utilize bars directly inside to reveal the interior of the Tent. Once you’ve completed these details, you’re ready for the final step! Before moving on, you can also have fun adding your elements.

Perhaps you could draw a background to show where this Tent is set up. Perhaps there is a forest in the background, with a cozy campfire at the entrance. This is your chance to get creative and show off where your ideal camping spot would be! What final touches will you add to your beautiful tent design?

Step 6: Complete the tent picture with some color.

In this last step of drawing your Tent, you can enjoy adding fantastic colors to your painting. For our example, we used a few shades of orange and blue to fill it in, and while you can replicate this look, you can also choose your color schemes! Tents are available in various coolers and designs, so you can use your favorite patterns and coolers to create your perfect Tent.

You can have fun coloring if you have drawn additional elements, such as a backdrop or other camping accessories. It’s also great fun to play around with different art mediums, and you can achieve various looks and styles depending on what you use. For example, if you want a more subdued look, you can use more subdued mediums such as cultured pencils or watercolors. For a brighter look, you can try cultured markers or pens.
